A few words at lunchtime

I'm sitting in front of the computer (always good to start with the obvious) after a couple of slices of toast and strawberry jam, drinking a cup of tea (check) and browsing through my expanding list of followed blogs, leaving comments and answering my own, for which I'm always grateful. My thanks to Pandora Poikilos, whose blog can be found at http://peacefrompieces.blogspot.com/ for awarding me the following badge

This is a blog with little content, other than to say it's jolly cold. Yesterday morning, we had our first frost, which was still in eveidence in places when I wandered out at nearly lunchtime.

As a small reminder that it was only Summer a few moments ago, I saw a butterfly on the same wanderings. Unfortunately, I think this butterfly's race is about done as it stopped for a rest on the grass twice while trying to get across.

Freshly sheared, glen seems unimpressed by the change in the weather.

I must be off now, I have a dictionary to read. Have a good afternoon all.

I can sympathise about the weather - here in San Francisco it went from over 90 degrees last week to somewhere around 50 this week - from lying on the beach to getting the jumpers out. Of course people here freak out if it gets frosty, so rarely does it happen - in the city at least.
I hope you find something good at Waterstone's - I imagine zen books in England are about as available as good Belgian beers are here - in other words, people are catching on, and you can find all the best stuff if you nose around a little - maybe that's Glen's job.

Oops - apologies for saying England rather than Scotland there - my old southern bias coming through, typical sassenach...

We've had a couple of frosts but nothing compared to what I'm seeing today from several bloggers in the UK. We'll catch up soon as our killing frost should set in sometime late this month and the snow will be arriving soon after.

Wolfie, I hope you've got a worky spread sheet sitting waiting on the task bar in case your boss happens by.

Shundo, Watersons in Glasgow has a super religious/spiritual section - I quite often pick up something on the way to work - there's always a small hope that I'll learn something during my 12 hours off.

That was yesterday Chip, though today down in England I think they've had a frosty one. But it seems early. If we get another winter like last, which you seem to have had yourself, then Godzilla will certainly earn her keep.

Yep, it sure has gone nippy lately, poor little Glen looks like he could do with a wooly jumper.

Hello Sandy, thanks for joining my Blog and leaving me a comment. Your photographs are smashing, but I absolutely loved wee Glen looking rather forlorn with his new hair-do :D
I shall enjoy poping back (my only other visit to Sctland was to get married at Gretna!).

Thank you everyone for your comments - Glen managed to forget his haircut for a while for 10 deafening minutes with a squeeky toy.
